Our Trials are Meant to Nurture God’s Vision #AFreshAnnointing (30-Day Prayer Fast Update #1: The Breaking)

“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.”

—‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1: 7a; 13-14 (‭NLT)‬‬

30 Days came and went — and this is me. I was so excited that I danced full choreo, how I imagined David danced in the Bible, lol, and stayed up until 3:00 A.M that morning, reading the Bible with my sister. I cried, she cried, we all cried at the abundance of testimonies. I kept my word to break my fast at 6:00 A.M. instead, & even with little sleep & a sore back, the Lord woke me w. energy & greater strength to continue my period of steadfast prayer. I prayed for about an hour, I went for a run, prayed some more, & cleansed myself. I felt like it was my birthday. I wanted to feel like my best self. I scrubbed, washed, and conditioned from head to toe, with fresh clothing for the fresh anointing I’m receiving from Christ. Makeup did not make the cut for today, because truly I don’t need cosmetics to feel like my best self!

I started my day post-workout w. a juice, & broke my fast close to noon with my saved portion from me & my sister’s Father’s Day brunch. The feeling is still indescribable, as even as I had the ability to eat for the first time in 30 Days, I didn’t feel the NEED to. It didn’t feel as compulsory as our temptations make it seem. Eating was no longer at the forefront of my mind.

When you’re deeply fasting for an extended period time, the focus shifts from your withdrawal of usual nourishment. As God provides you with everything you need to sustain yourself with anointed provisions, you are able to tap into the Holy Spirit to focus on your WHY. YOU FOCUS, focus again, & refocus. You’re so attuned to absorbing every last bit of the Open Heaven, that you even yearn for more time! I know I did!

Honestly, the crazy thing about the Holy Spirit is that sometimes the anointing isn’t for us, selfishly. The anointing of the Holy Spirit brings:

  • Healing to others

  • Breakthrough for others

  • Freedom to others

The craziest part of my period of fasting was that my greatest fulfillment was from the testimonies that came from those around me during this time. Coming together to read the Word, agree in prayer, work though devotionals, and study opened doors for blessings, anointing, and power.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”— 2 Cor. 12:9 (NKJV)

During this Fast, I called for a fresh anointing, so I can be effective in His ministry in the ways He sees fit for His ultimate purpose.

Success in God’s Kingdom begins with a God-inspired vision. As I learned, a vision for our lives is: A PICTURE of where God wants to bring us, that helps us:

  1. Better delegate our time

  2. Aim our Efforts

  3. Make Decisions

  4. Set our Priorities

  5. Make our Lives Significant ⠀⠀

It’s imperative for us to possess God’s Vision for us in every season of our lives.

In any and every season of our lives, we can ask God for a clear and compelling vision of what He wants to do is us.

TODAY, LET’S PROMISE OURSELVES TO NURTURE GOD’S VISION FOR US BY FOCUSING ON IT AND DECLARING IT! Let’s keep God’s vision alive by keeping it the Center of our Attention.
